The complexity, with which health-related information is presented nowadays, demands on people more than what they are prepared for. Informed decisions require comprehending complex topics to understand risks. However, many people are often not medically educated enough to effectively participate in decision-making, affecting the understanding of the importance of medical treatments, examinations or personal lifestyle choices.
Pregnancies are a good example of a moment in life, where health-related decisions are of great importance.
Understanding all medical procedures, health examinations and their results is important for adjusting lifestyle, feeling security, the ability to make decisions, and avoiding fear.
The goal of my master thesis is to develop a solution, which guides parents through the medical and scientific side of pregnancy. Help them understand risks, what procedures they will undergo, why and what they mean, to avoid fear and frustration.
